Festive Strawberry Vodka Recipe

I receive a package from Crowdtap.com. In it was some Sweet n Low packets. I received free for a review. I opened one packet to see what it taste like compared to other brands. It tasted pretty good. I wanted to see how it stood up when making recipes. Since Thanksgiving is officially over. I can now start preparing and rejoicing for the Christmas holiday.

I like to make this drink. My teenagers think I am drinking tangy Kool-Aid with no sugar. Little do they know the little add in Vodka. Enough to change the taste. This is my way of staying calm through the holiday season when stress goes up. The following recipe stands up. It rocks. I plan on making more of these drinks with Sweet N Low.

 As you know I like using as few ingredients as I can. However, I want it to be bold with flavor. Here is my recipe :

Festive Strawberry Vodka
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6 ounces of Strawberry Kool-Aid (no sugar added)
2 ounces of Vodka
2 Sweet N Low packets
Mix all together.
Before adding to a glass. Dip the rim in water. Than dip in sugar for a festive look. Add drink mix.
Add ice if you want. Or drink as is.
Tip : Add more Sweet N Low packet for a sweeter taste. Add less for a more tangy taste.
Tip : For those who do not like a strong alcohol taste, add one ounce of Vodka to 7 ounces of Kool-Aid.
WW : Keeping The Dogs Warm
With the recent snowfall and temperatures falling, I like to keep my dogs warm when they go outside
Rascal my little dog loves being dressed. I bought him the harness he is wearing last year. Without it on, he refuses to go outside to use the restroom when the temperature drops.
Moose is wearing  a new coat. It is size medium. it zips up most of the way. Not all the way. A size large is too big on him. Finding the right size to fit for him is hard to do. It fits him to get more towards his neck. That is what you get when you mix a chihuahua and a pug together to produce a Chug. The back side is more like a Chihuahua, the front size is more broad like a Pug. Two different sizes.
After the dogs come in. Rascal my smaller dog always come sup to cuddle in my arms. Moose has decided he now needs to climb on my lap as well coming in from the cold. They both keep me warm snuggling up to me.
This shirt is actually a size large. I use safety pins to hold it in the right place.
John Deere green makes rascals white fur stand out.
Moose will cuddle on my boyfriend's lap, when mine isn't available. In the above photo Moose is giving me a look after I place him in a sweater. Seem coats and shirts are fine but not sweaters.
Thank goodness at least Rascal enjoys wearing sweaters.
I am glad I have both of my dogs. I love them both.
How do you keep your pets warm when it gets cold out?
You can find some amazing shirts, coats and sweaters on Amazon to get your pets warm out in the cold.
WW : More Storage Auction Finds
I am still going through the items I won in the storage auction a few weeks ago. Not having much space in this house makes it hard to go through things at once. I do have a shed out back. It is full of personal belonging and more stuff from the auction. I will say I do enjoy going through all the stuff in the huge storage unit I had won. The excitement of what could be in the next box or plastic tub can be exhilarating.
I recently was able to go through 15 to 20 bags of clothes, pillows, sheets and comforters that was in the storage unit. I made sure all trash and other things were removed. It took over two days to do this. The bags were donated to a local church. Who are giving to a family in need. I did warn them all the items needed washed. As they had sat in storage for up to 10 years. There is lots of dust. However many things look brand new and still have tags on them.
Now, my boyfriend and I need to go through everything and decide what we want to keep. Compared to what we plan to sell. I do plan on selling more than I keep.
Here is a few more things that came from the storage unit :
These are really pretty turquoise Christmas bulbs. I found a bunch of Christmas items. That I plan to sell or giveaway. As I only have a small tree that will sit on my kitchen table. These would not fit.
I plan to keep both of these. As I love cookbooks. Plus, I collect them. I have had some recipes from these cookbooks in the past. I can say Pampered Chef has some amazing recipes.
I found another Bible in the storage unit stuff. It is a "Good News" bible. Never heard of this one. Anyone have any clue's?
I plan to keep this mini Coca Cola glass. Plus this mini glass Coca Cola bottle. The mini glass is half the size of a 16 ounce of bottled water.
I plan to sell or give this ring holder away. I think is cute. However, I have no use for it. I added the hair ties. To show how small this ring holder is.
This is one of the many different cups I found among the storage unit finds. I will probably try to sell or donate it to one of the local thrift shops. Flowers are not my style on coffee cups.
More photos to come as I am able to go through the mounds of items found in the storage unit finds.
Would you buy any of these items? If so, how much would you be willing to pay?
Rascal Disappears In The Snow
Today, my boyfriend forget the up at the mechanics shop. So, we went up to get it. Rascal loves to go on rides. He literally tries to climb up my leg to go for a ride. When we got back home. I let Rascal down on the ground. As it is the first snow of the season.
As you can tell, Rascal doesn't like snow. I don't know if it is because of the cold or because it is wet. Either way in the photo you can see him high tailing it towards the front door of the house. He was moving fast. As the only thing you can make out in the picture is him.
With Rascal's white color. It is hard to see him standing in the middle of the snow. Luckily, I can tell exactly where he is at by following his footprints in the snow. He may think he can hide from me. However, I caught on ways to notice him.
WW : Storage Auction Finds
I have not written a Wordless Wednesday post in a long time. I do miss creating them. As I love to use as many photos as I can in my articles.
You ask what is "Wordless Wednesday"? It is a blog post a blogger creates using as many photos as they can with as little to no words. So, those websites that require so many words per post or blog can still join in the fun. Some people choose one photo to talk about. While other like to use many. Whatever way you choose. Make sure you follow the rules of the websites you post on.
I went to a storage auction a week ago today. I paid $40 on a unit I won the bid on. I have got many things from that unit. There was as much trash, as they were items. Many items are collectables. Now I need to start to determine if I am going to keep anything or find some way to sell it.
This glass Chess set will be kept - I gave it to my teenage son. As he plays Chess with my boyfriend.
This is a 1940's Bible - Version King James. not sure if I want to keep it or not. I do plan to read it to see how different it is from my 1970's version.
Found someone to buy this little gem already. Basically it was traded for a 50 dollar blow dryer.
Not sure if we plan to keep or sell these. I believe my boyfriend has his eye on one of the wooden boxes.
I found a couple sets of different playing cards. One was Dungeon and Dragons. Plan on selling these.
I plan on keeping this jewelry box. As I like the looks of it. It is full of different jewelry which I haven't decided if my daughter and I are going to keep or sell yet.
This frog belongs to a collection. I already have the turtle that is in this collection. I plan on keeping this one. in my bathroom. As the frog can be taken apart to place something in. Such as jewelry before heading in the shower or bath.
Selling this - A table with legs that screw on. All the pieces are here. I already have one. I don't need this one.
Have you created your "Wordless Wednesday" post yet? Have you go to storage auctions? if so, what do you look for to buy?
WW - Dog Fashion
Today for my wordless wednesday post. I want to show off Rascal and Moose in their new sweaters.
Rascals new sweater is gray, black with a white bone on the back. He loves taking photos. He loves wearing clothes. He may have long hair. However, the cold and snow affects him something fierce.
Moose would not pose for me at all. His sweater is black with different shades of gray.
I think was mad at me for putting the sweater on him. However, he has been spending more time outside since it has grown colder.
Moose was so upset for having the sweater he climbed up on my boyfriend's lap to pout.
I mean look at Moose's face. I don't think he was happy with me at all.
However, I bought each sweater at Walmart. The prices were from $3.99 to $5.99 depending on size. Sizes range from extra small to large. rascal fit in an extra small. Moose fits in a medium. I choose each sweater. As they were the only to similar in colors.
The Undercover Beagle and Her Sidekick Boston Blackie Book Review
I received this book awhile back. I handed to my 15 year old special needs daughter to read, who is on a 4th grade reading level. She had trouble with some of the big words. I showed her in the back of the book where she could find some definitions for the words she was having trouble. She took about a month to finish the book.
After my daughter read. I read it to. That way I could answer any questions she had. The book was based on several different animals characters and a mystery to solve. I found it to funny and amusing.
I liked several of the lessons taught in the book. I loved how the black bear made fun of the owl's name. The owl took it in strife without getting mad. That was a very good point. As it showed my daughter she doesn't have to react negatively when someone calls her a name or pronounces her name the wrong way. It shows my daughter a way to laugh it off. I also like the fact the book shows how working together as a team can get things accomplished.
If I had to rate this book from 1 to 5. 5 being the highest rating. I would give this book a 5. As this book did not disappoint one bit.
This book review was also shared on Amazon.com
10 Things to Avoid Feeding Your Dogs
With the holidays coming up. I want to express how important it is to keep certain foods away from your dogs. Some foods will kill your dog if they eat it. Maybe not right away. However, your dog will suffer till the end. If you can't get it to a vet quick enough. I don't know about you but the closest 24 hour vet is an hour from I live. I don't want to risk any chances with my dogs life. As I had a scare when one of my dogs decided to pick up a stick that was full of ants that bite him.
Here is a list of foods to keep away from your pet. Otherwise they can get deathly sick and die. If you're going to feed your dog from the table this holiday season. Make sure these are not one of them :
1. Seeds or pits - Any seed (apple, grape, peach etc.) or pits (cherries) As they are toxic to dogs.
2. Raisins or grapes - These can cause irreversible kidney damage.
3. Chocolate - In small amount dogs seem to do fine. however, since dogs don't have an off button when it comes to eating. it is best to stay clear. As chocolate is known to be toxic to dogs.
4. Onions & Garlic - Some people use garlic to ward off fleas. There is a better natural way using coconut butter oil and yeast. garlic is known to be more toxic than onions.
5. Xylitol - What is this? It is an artificial sweetener in candies and gum. One piece will kill a 10 pound dog.
6. Raw dough - Usually has a high amount of yeast that will cause the dog's stomach to expand and can explode.
7. Mushrooms - Some mushrooms are safe for dogs. It is best to teach your dog these are bad. So, they don't digest any in the wild or up against the tree. Mistakenly eating poisonous ones. Unless you know the difference don't feed them to your dog.
8. Currants - Are related to grapes. They are more toxic. If your dog ingests some. If you don't see vomiting or diarrhea right away. Get your dog to a vet.
9. Raw or green potatoes - While eating raw potatoes may be enjoyable for humans. It is toxic to dogs.
10. Avocados - Are highly toxic to dogs.
Never feed your dogs the seeds, stems, or leaves of any fruit or veggies. As many are highly toxic to dogs. Dogs are not meant to be vegetarians.
