#42 Roses and Tulips

Todays challenge is to write about flowers. I choose to write about roses and tulips. As they are my favorite flowers. Living in NW Ohio flowers have no yet emerged. As the weather has not warmed up enough yet. However, the time will come soon enough where the state is covered in blooming flowers.

Red tulips are one of my favorite flowers. I like to plant them where ever I live. I do like tulips of other colors. There is something about the red ones that catch my eye first. I do like tulips because they come in a wide ray of colors. Plant one and it will continue to grow year after year.

Red roses are my other favorite flower. I have always found the rose to be so tantalizing. Growing thorns to protect themselves from harm make them even more appealing.

I like roses so much. I decided to have a blue rose tattooed with my daughters nickname over my ankle. I choose blue over red. As my body will not take in any red color and bleeds it all out.

Challenge : Write about flowers.

Spring Is Here

One thing I am happy about is....Spring is here. I know in NW Ohio we may get more snow before summer arrives. however, it is warming up. Yesterday was fairly nice out. No need for jackets. As the kids were running around playing outside.

The grandbaby received a sippy cup for the first time. he figured out how to drink from it pretty quick. It might of helped having the taste of chocolate milk for the very first time. That was his Great Aunt's call. As she said it was Easter and a special occasion.

I love this picture of my son holding his son. Love how the suns shines through from behind. I was a beautiful spring day. My grandbaby was able to try and see new things. It simply amazes me to watch him as he experiences things for the first time. His expressions say it all.

Challenge : Write about spring.

Easter Surprises

The teens and my grandbaby made out on Easter. I did get my grandson a bit more. As he dad couldn't afford to get him a basket. I did add in a rubber duckie to play in the tub with.

Each bucket held the following swag :
Bath sponge
Compacted wash cloth
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
carrot straws
Lots of candy

We ate a brunch at home with Italian shredded chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, broccoli and cheese with crescents.

We went to dinner at my families side. A bunch of family was there. It was good to see all of them. We had tons of food. Which my stepmother loaded up in containers for everyone to take home. Love her leftovers. She is an amazing cook.

After getting home. I called mom up to see if she was still home. As I had not made it over there yet. She said she would come to my house. I said cool. As I had a plate prepared for her.

Mom wanted to go junk hunting. As monday was my areas pick trash pick up. Being a  nice day. It meant more items not trash were being placed out for big pick up. I was able to pick up a tub of matchbox and hot wheel cars. Mom picked up a bunch of dishes. I picked up an old metal toolbox. Those things last forever. Plus, people buy them if we decided to get of this one.

All in all, Easter turned out to be good.

Walk Around, What?

I am playing catch up on my monthly challenge. To learn more, read about it by clicking : HERE Today's topic is about the things we walk around to get where we are going. Do you have to walk around things in your own home? I do each day.

I have to walk around my English Mastiff when he lays on the floor. He is too big for me to walk over. I have forgotten a few times when he has laid at my feet. I get up only to fall on my face. Now, I look down to see which dog is laying at my feet.

I have to walk around the ottomon in my livingroom. It is big, round and always full of something. It seems to be a catch all. Like my computer desk. It does get routinely cleaned off each day. Espically when the grandbaby comes over. As he will grab anything on it.

Currently I have a tub of hotwheels and matchbox toy cars that I am walking around. As I picked up up last night when I was out with my mother. As someone threw them out in the trash. Can you believe someone would throw so many of them out at once?

I also have another tub full of misc. things I am walking around. As I am filling it up with different items and places it in the shed. As I am preparing to get things ready to hopefully move within the next month or so.

I can't forget the metal toolbox I picked up that someone threw out. That I am also walking around. Til it gets placed out in the shed. Those old toolboxes are worth money. It will be an easy sell if it is decided to do that. However, I think we will keep it for the time beginning and actually use it to store tools in the shed.

Challenge : Write about something you have to walk around

A - Z Emotion Challenge : Emotions

Emotions are feelings accompanied by a reaction. Such as breathe heavier, fist tightening, pulse racing, etc.

I am a few days behind in writing my weekly emotions posts. I want to apologize. As being Easter today, emotions have been running high all week. Family and friends stopping in unannounced while trying to do a normal routine. Plus, get things ready for today's events.

I have a range of emotions going through my head right now. I know today is about Jesus. He is the reason for the season. However once again things prevent me from being joyous and allowing me to celebrate. As I know in my heart Jesus is the reason for the season.

Just like Christmas morning, today I was awoke with my daughter screaming at the top of her lungs because she wanted to do everything but take her medication. The one things she knows she must do when she first gets out of bed. How many times do I have to repeat? " Be quiet and take your meds."

I am emotionally drained. I am tired of the toe tipping on eggshells because she might explode at something she doesn't want to hear. I am tired of feeling like I am living in the past. Afraid to show my emotion or say a word for fear my daughter will explode and place her hands on me again.

I am tired of watching her prance around the house like she owns it doing what she wants. Such as walking in her brothers room unannounced and listening to both of them have a screaming match on a daily bases. Or telling me how its unfair that she has to put the dishes away. Instead she would rather sit on her bum doing nothing while everyone runs around waits on her hand and foot.

The house echos. My ears hurt, my head hurts. I can't think straight. All I want to do is lay down and cry. My stomach hurts and I feel like I am going to puke.

Dear Jesus,
I pray you pour your precious blood over each and everyone of us. Help us overcome wild emotions we feel we must act on them instead of showing restraint. Help us to hold our tongue before we say something that will hurt each other beyond repair. I know my family is not the only one going through these range of emotions. We are not the worse or at the top of the list. However, I don't know how much more of this my family can take before it breaks. I pray and beg of you to help and intervene before it is too late. My son hates his sister. My daughter is jealous of her brothers. She defies any rule or words spoken that isn't her own. My eldest son has his own problems to deal with. Such as a broken heart while trying to be a good dad to his baby. Please forgive my sins, as I have many.
In your name, Jesus, I pray,
Amen.

Once a week I will be doing the next letter of the alphabet based on a emotion. To learn more about this challenge. Please click on the photo below.

Is This Food Aggression? What Do I Do?

I eat all the other dogs food, than guard mine.

Okay, all you dog lovers out there. I am need of some advice. My English Mastiff has been becoming food aggressive towards the smaller dogs. He will be two this summer.

Here's a little background story on Buster :  Bringing Buster Home

I have to feed them separate. At first I thought it was a domination issue. However, I think it is more than that. As if I am in view. He doesn't bother with Moose or Rascal. When I go out of sight even feeding them separate. Buster my Mastiff will go from his food bowl, eat all of Moose's than sit in front of his own, not allowing Moose to eat at all. Same with water.

Twice now Buster has jumped Moose in the house for no reason. Growling, pinning Moose down on his back. Moose of course being a Chug has the Chihuahua mentality of not backing down. Growls back. The sound when this happens is horrible.

Moose did not have anything. No intimidating. No growling. Only playing with the pup. Usually I tell Buster to back off or stop, he does. Last night he didn't. I literally had to hit him to get him off of Moose. I have been keeping them separate. Not allowing them to spend any time together since last night.

I am looking for suggestions. He is up to date on shots, not fixed. I plan on doing that but not at this time. I always have food for the dogs. Plenty the bowls are always full. Is there anything I can do to prevent this besides keeping them separate? I am open for suggestions. i am not ready to give up on him yet. However, for the others dogs and my families sake. I need to figure out this soon.

Other than this I have no issues with Buster. He listens well.

Chocolate, Chocolate, and more Chocolate

Who doesn't like Girl Scout cookies with chocolate in them.

My boyfriend and teen loves chocolate and Girl Scout cookies.  Thin mint and tagalongs are my families favorite? Do you have a favorite Girl Scout cookie?

Chocolates my boyfriend bought me for no reason.. Other than he loves me. This chocolates were made and sold by Dove.

Chocolate also comes in flavored ice coffees. This flavor was very good. It was bought at Aldi's.

Strawberries taste great dipped in chocolate. So, do many other fruits.

Oreos with a chocolate cookie dipped in a white chocolate.

Chocolate makes for a great topping on fried ice cream.

Chocolate can be found in many cereals/ Such as "Count Chocula" from in stores around Halloween.

Chocolate is also very tasty over pretzels. You get salt and sweetness all in one bite.

How do like your chocolate?

Challenge : Write chocolate

Peanutbutter and Jelly

Did you know the Aztecs used peanuts in a different way as we know peanutbutter today? However, George Washington Carver receives credit as he came up with three hundred uses for peanuts. From peanutbutter, paper, oils, ink and more.

I tried looking up who created jelly or a timeline of when it was created. however, I came up empty. It seems Jelly was created over in Europe or earlier using sugar cane. Grape jelly became popular in the united States. Although many different flavors are offered.

I grew up through my childhood at having peanut butter and butter sandwiches or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It was a real treat to get one as a child. Peanut Butter and butter sandwiches left for something to be desired. Plus, it always made me thirsty.

Challenge : Write about peanut butter, jelly or your favorite sandwich served at lunch time.

My Boyfriend Pranked Me

Doesn't he look good in leather?
Today's writing challenge is April Fool's Day or pranks. I think both of these go hand in hand together. I can remember pulling pranks on my siblings growing up. Some went over well. Others got me chased out of the house.

I am all for pranks. Unless someone gets hurt out of it. Than I have issues as it is no longer fun and games to me. Remember when pulling a prank on someone of the consequences that could happen. Think before you act on them. Otherwise you can get hurt or someone else can.

He took sleeping with the dogs literally.
Example : My boyfriend walked up behind me when he came home one day. I had the music up sitting at the computer. I did not hear him come in. He came up to near my ear and spoke. I literally jumped out of my seat and went swinging with the keyboard. I did catch the rim of his hat before I realized it was him playing a prank on me.

I could have seriously hurt my boyfriend if I did not realize it was him. He realized what could happen scaring me. He was prepared to take a hit if needed. He had a good laugh, while I tried to calm down. I can laugh about it now. However, I never listen to my music with the volume up that loud. Lesson learned.

Challenge : Write about April Fool's Day or pranks
