Food For Wordless Wednesday

Another wonderful wordless wednesday post.

My family went out to eat at Captain D's the other evening. I am the only one who choose a veggie to add to my meal.

Side dishes at Captain D's was yummy crab bites, which taste awful cold. Plus, new on the menu claim stripes.

Another meal was pizza. Light sauce with mushrooms and pineapple. It was a tasteful combination. I would order it again. The other pizza was pepperoni and olives for the teens. Dessert was cinnamon sticks with icing.

The next day boyfriend brought lunch home. It was a sandwich from Burger King. What a  surprise!

Challenge : Share a wordless wednesday post.
(It is a post with few to no words.)

Many Blessings

For today's challenge. I am writing about blessings that have been bestowed on me. If you would like to take this challenge, you can find more about it at: "Things to write about in March". If you participate, please leave a link in the comments area. That way I can read what you wrote.

I sit back in my computer chair and think of the blessings that has been given to me. God has given me three beautiful children. Booty 23, Thomas Lee 16, and Emily 14. He has also given me one grandson KJ 9 months.

God has blessed me with a boyfriend of three years. He is the kindest man I have ever been with. He may be a little crazy. However, he is my kind of crazy. I love him very much. My only wish is that I could of meet him years earlier. Maybe I would not be on my second divorce. I know God has a plan for me, in his own time. Not mine.

Another blessing is my dogs. Buster, English mastiff will be two this summer, Moose The Chug turn three in October 2015, and Rascal, the Chihuahua mix will be one this summer.

I have a roof over my head and able to pay the bills. I have my online friends who is willing to give me advice. Plus, listen to my rants on Facebook about my life. I receive the things I need in many different ways.

I am blessed with an extended family. We rarely see each other. Even though we all live with in the same general area. Facebook and phone is how we keep up. Major holidays we get together.

God has blessed me with the opportunity to write and create my own blog. Even if noone reads it. It is way for me to write down my world, my feelings, about anything that comes to mind. Hopefully one day I will be blessed with many readers where as I can start earning off my blogs.

Something I Am Hiding Challenge

Right now the only thing I am hiding are things for Easter. I have bought my grandsons Easter present online. Since, he is 9 months old. His parents do not want him to have a lot of candy. I choose to buy him a gift instead. Something personalized with his name on it.

I was looking for one like this with a Noah's Ark theme. However, when I went to place the order the site was out of stock. I found the barn theme one instead. I ordered it. It came quick. I have it hidden. That way my grandson or his dad doesn't catch a glimpse of it.

Later on this week I plan on going Easter shopping for my teenagers. I always hit up the "Dollar Tree" before going anywhere else. As they have the cheapest candy. Plus, the little extras I like to stuff in my teens Easter Basket.

Such as : toothpaste, toothbrush, compacted washcloth etc. Plus, other small assorted beauty products. Something to fill the basket it up with other things besides candy. Things I know my teens will need anyways.

Challenge : Write about something you hide and why you hide it.

Homemade Biscuits and Gravy Recipes

My family loves for me to make a quick homemade meal of biscuits and gravy. It is a meal that always goes over well with my family. I enjoy making a home cooked meal that will satisfy everyone in my family. Having several picky eaters, it can be a challenge.

My teenage son enjoys his biscuits and gravy separate. As he likes to dip his biscuits in his gravy. There si no wrong way to enjoy homemade biscuits and gravy.

Homemade Biscuit Recipe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ingredients :
2 1/2 C. Flour
1 TBS Baking powder
1 C. milk
1/3 C. soft butter
1 tsp of sugar and salt
 Lightly grease baking sheet. I use a paper towel to wipe the grease on lightly. Add all dry products and mix : Flour, salt, sugar, baking powder. Add butter. Mix well. Slowly add in milk. When mix. You must kneed the mixture about 15 times. To ensure all the air bubbles get removed. Use a cookie or ice cream scoop to scoop out the mixture on the baking sheet. To ensure they are all roughly the same size. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
Optional : Brush the tops of the biscuits with butter for extra buttery flavor.
Homemade Gravy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Instructions :
1/2 gallon of milk
2 tsp chicken bouillon
1 TBS butter
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
5 pieces of crumbled up turkey bacon

On medium heat. Add all ingredients to pot. Mix well with a whisk. Once complete, add a thickener. Slowly add in a mixture of 1/2 c. cornstarch and enough water to make it as thick as you want your gravy. This mixture is what thickens your gravy.

When complete, pour over biscuits. Enjoy!

Bringing Buster Home

The summer of 2013, I became the owner of a English Mastiff. I found him through a Facebook group that sells or gives animals away for free.

A lady left a comment on a post that someone was looking for a pup. She said she had three to get rid of. So, I message her. She asked if I wanted male or female. I said male. She said she had two of them and I could choose which one upon the meeting.

Found through Google Images re-use
The people met me at Wal-mart parking lot. I was under the impression the pup was 6 months old. When I seen him. I knew he was either younger, or smaller because of being underweight. When I seen him I about cried. He was so skinny. His ribs and hip bones were showing.

From at Pixabay
The lady did tell me that Buster comes from an oops litter. She wanted to give them away to free homes. As she could not afford to feed them all. She said she did worm him, but no shots. When I met up with her she said she used horse wormer. Ugh!

Found through Pixabay free use images
My boyfriend noticed a spot on Buster's head and asked what it was from. The lady said her son was cooking in the kitchen and hot grease spilled on his head. She thought his fur would grow back. That spot is still there. Whatever happened to him, left a scar.

Found through Pixabay free re-use images
Today, I took him to the vets. The vet thinks he is around 4 months old. Judging by his teeth or lack there of. That Buster is under weight. Otherwise seems healthy. He was treated for fleas and placed on heart worm medication. He was also started on his shots. He also said Buster is lucky I took him as skinny as he is. The vet gave me some tips on how to get some more weight on Buster. The vet also said Buster's head will be fine. It doesn't seem to be serious, no infection. He might have a scar. We will have to wait and see. The Vet wanted to see him back for his next set of shots and to see how Buster is doing weight wise.

Buster has gained weight.
To be honest when I first seen Buster. I kinda freaked. I couldn't believe he was so skinny. Now these are my own personal opinions :

I think the woman did breed her dogs, maybe an oops litter, not sure. She knew they were not fixed and did not make sure the female did not get pregnant. Really, what did she think would happen once the female went in heat?

Photo found at Pixabay's free re-use images
I think she didn't know what she was getting herself into. I think she was looking at fast cash. Never realizing the cost of raising extra large pups and couldn't get rid of all the pups. As she quoted they were worth between $1600 - $1800 a piece. She just wanted to find good homes. So, she was giving away for free. I think she got in over her head and didn't realize what it entailed to have such large dogs. The cost of feeding them.

Photo found through Pixabay free re-use images
As it was apparent these dogs were not being fed properly. She made sure she met people somewhere far from her home town. She never gave a phone number out. No way to get back at her. Now, I did give her name she uses on Facebook from the condition the pups were in when I seen them to the authorities. Now it is up to them to proceed any further.

Look at how big Buster has grew.
Look at Buster now. He is huge. He is still growing. His ribs are no longer showing. The only issue I have with him, is him trying to guard all the food and not allowing the others to eat. He will not do it when a human is present. He waits til it is only the dogs. I can place three bowls out. He will guard and eat them all. Unless, I make sure to stay within range to allow the other two to eat their fill. Or I make sure they are fed separately in their cages to prevent any issues.

See what a difference a responsible pet owner can do!

A - Z Emotions Challenge : Complicated

I am a day late getting this post out. My life got busy yesterday. To be honest I sent most of the day on the toilet. I missed a package that came yesterday because of it. I had to go to the post office to pick it up this morning. Some days I feel my life is more complicated compared to others.

To explain where I am at in life is complicated. One place I like to express myself is Facebook. I am connected to my online friends where I seek out advice and when i want to socialize with other people. I have a separate Facebook for Family or acquaintances. I have two because my estranged husband was stalking me. He would befriend who I was connected with. He would ask how the person knew me. Basically grill them. To the point I was loosing friends.

I really don't blame the people not wanting to get involved. It is frustrating to have to explain myself over and over. It feels like I am either not being heard or people don't care enough to pay attention to what I have to say. Like I said it is complicated.

Another complicated attempt at happiness : Trying for a divorce. In the state of Ohio, if children are involved. You must get a divorce. No dissolution, no separation. I have been quoted $2000 up front by lawyers to start a divorce.  No one is willing to take payments. The most I have ever had at one time saved up is $600. I have tried. However, something always comes up.

Back in 2013, my estranged husband said he would grant me a divorce, he would pay for it, as he knows i want to move on with my life. I wonder if that was a ploy. As nothing has been file or started. Long story short, if I wait a little over 3 years. My kids will all be adults. I can file online for as little as $300. Like I said, it is complicated.

Dreaming of owning a house complication : I walked to a bank and asked what would it take for me to apply for a loan to buy a house. I was upfront about everything to the lady. She wanted me to start applying that day. She was sure I could get a loan. However, it would take actual eye son the application. Not the computer. As it seem I have no credit.

I had to get a bunch of paperwork around. I did but the bank wanted more. They wanted a copy of my child support order. I didn't have it. I called child support. They do not have a copy either. They have to request one from the state of Florida. I live in Ohio. Florida doesn't like working with Ohio. I was warned it could take months to receive it. The date for the loan could go and go by time the paper arrives. Thus, I could not be approved for the loan in time or at all. LIke I said it is complicated.

My relationship with my daughter is complicated : My daughter is a teenager. She has ADHD, ODD, with a  comprehensive issue. She is one big drama queen. She will throw a fit til she gets her way. Out of all three of my children. I have been called to the school more for my daughter than I have for both boys combined.

Yes, she has raised her hands to me. She has left bruises, cuts and knocked bones out of place. I refuse to involve the cops. As I belief placing my daughter in jail will not help her but make her worse. She has mental issues. I do not believe people with mental issues belong in jail. I think they need to get outside sources of help.

Her attitude has slowed down and she hasn't touched me in about a month. Summer is coming up. She always gets worse in the summer when she feels she is cooped up all the time. She is learning her responsibilities and her actions she louder than anything she can say. Slowly my approach is working, where the therapist and psychiatrist has failed. Like I said, it is complicated

It seems my life has been become one big complication. I am handling it by taking one step at a time. I look forward, hold my head high, and mainly keep everything inside. I make mistakes, I learn from them and move on. Crossing each hurdle that is placed in front of me gives me the confidence to keep going. It lets me know I am making the step in the right direction.
