Bubbling Brew

Photo from Pixabay.com
The blinking bride bewilderingly bounced around on the blackened broomstick. As she brazenly bumped into the bumbling beast. Which was bellowing at the black cat.
The black cat bellowed that the bubbling brew needed some blue berry boogers.
As a Banshee belted out a blood curling scream. Meant for the Boogie man to boil the broken and bitter body.

Let Us Talk Breakfast

Photo from Pixabay.com

Today my boyfriend and I got. around 10 AM to take me to the store. As we had nothing in the house to drink but bottled water. I was my diet tea with no sugar added.
I noticed it was still breakfast time when we were done. Or so I thought. So, we headed to Mc Donald's. As I have been very good and have not ate out, not even ordering pizza in over a week's time. I thought I would treat the kids.
Come to find out we missed breakfast by mere seconds. It was lunch time at Mcdonald's.

I ended ordering a triple cheeseburger meal for my teenage son. As it was only $5.00 for a meal. I got to love Mcdonald's for it's cheap meal deals.

I ended up getting the chicken nugget meal deal. I gave my fries to the kids. I am trying to at least choose chicken or fish if I eat at a fast food joint. I did order a tea to go with my meal.
So, I ended up having a few chicken nuggets and tea for breakfast. What a weird combination for breakfast!.
I think I would preferred eating at home and having some eggs and toast instead. Served with coffee.
Challenge : Share a picture and write about breakfast.

Johnsonville Sausage Reply

Photo from Pixabay.com

A couple days ago I was surfing the Johnsonville website. Their products are meatballs and sausages. I do enjoy their pork products.

However, since I have a member of my family with a pork allergic. I no longer buy their products. Unless I know that family member will not be around for dinner. I do not dare cook any of it on the grill for fear it may not cleaned properly causing the family member to get sick from the pork.

I sent them a message and asked if they would consider in the future to add a turkey sausage or a turkey meatball to their line of products and why.

This is the response I received :

I was really surprised at how fast the company replied. I do hope in the near future they will add a turkey sausage or turkey meatball to their line of products.

Contacting a company you like, is a good way to let the company know the public wants and needs. Not everyone can make their own food. Letting companies know what you want is a real big help in the marketplace.

Have you ever contacted a food company?

Homemade Gravy Over Hashbrowns

In my family, we make breakfast for dinner at least once a week. With school and work, dinner is the one time we get to sit together, talk about our day and enjoy each other's company.

My teen son is my pickiest eater. The only thing he placed on his plate for dinner was turkey bacon, hashbrowns, and homemade gravy. I have tried with this child to get this child to eat healthier with no luck. However, he is a exercise and sports nut.

My teen son may not eat much healthy foods. At least he will eat turkey bacon which is healthier and less greasy than pork bacon. I switched to turkey bacon a few years ago. After I realized my boyfriend was allergic to pork.

The recipe for the homemade gravy is :

Homemade Gravy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1/2 gallon of milk - I like to use 1%
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika (yes, you read that right)
1 TB chicken bouillon
Thickener
~~~~~~~~
4 TB flour or cornstarch
Add water to the thickness you want the gravy to be. After mixing, immediately add to the milk mix.

Heat to a simmering boil.
Add the thicker, stir using a whisk the whole time.

Once everything is stirred together to the thickness the gravy you would like. It is done. I give it a quick taste test to see if anything needs added.

Is Protectiveness The Same as Aggressiveness?

Okay, maybe you can help with an argument I am having with a neighbor.
The neighbor thinks a dog barking and growling for protection, is the same as barking and growling for aggressiveness. I say it isn't. However, she is firm on what she believes.
I think barking and growling to protect the family is a good thing. That a dog should be rewarded. My neighbor thinks it is wrong. Instead of being rewarded, the dog should be reported to animal control and put down.
What do you think? Is it the same? Should it be treated differently? Or does it give conflicting commands to our dogs?

Sending Food Back, Not Once, But Twice

In the past, I have had bad experience at a restaurant. I have eaten there many times and have never had a bad experience before.
I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. I took a bite and it was raw on the inside. I tried to eat, but sucked down more soft drink than bites. A friend caught the waitress's attention and told her. She took it away for another sandwich.
Well, they replaced it but guess what. The second one has been just as raw. The cook came out and apologized. She used the excuse that it was fresh meat. I still had to pay for the meal.
Yuck!! I am sorry, but when someone says they want their meat cooked well down. Then why couldn't she do it? I have cooked with raw meat before to make hamburgers. As I grew up on a farm. I have always managed to cook a hamburger where it wasn't raw.
Do you think I should have had to pay for the meal?
It wasn't cooked the way I ordered. The cook tried not once but twice.
Would this upset you in not coming back to eat at the place again? How would you handle this? Have you ever had the experience of sending food back to the cook because it wasn't done right? How did it turn out after sending it back?
