Having a religion does not give you the right to stomp on another person's religion

I was reading an article titled "Complaint says crosses at Catholic school offensive, prevents Muslim prayers". The one thing I love about the United States is the verse of religion groups out there. You respect other religions rights and do not go out of your way to step on them for your own gain.

However, this article clearly shows some Muslims have joined a Catholic school and trying to push their religion by stepping on the Catholics religion. Finding offense with the Catholic cross.

The one thing people need to realize no matter what religion you are, if you enroll your children in a Catholic school. There will be Catholic rituals, items, and rules. The people have the right to transfer to another school that is not offensive. Or better yet create more schools for the Muslim religion. Instead of trying to stomp on another religion.

Being religious does not give you the right to stomp on other religions, practices, or symbols. If you find offense with them. Move on. Quit trying to change things to your religion. This is America, the land of religious freedom.

Window To Our Souls

This is a poem I wrote awhile back. I write poems alot. As I feel they are a different way for me to express myself. I know I haven't shared many on here. I may just start sharing some more. I don't have a rhythm when I write. I just log down my thoughts and feelings. I hope you like it and can understand the meaning behind my poem.

Window to our souls
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As we stare eye to eye
We wonder about each other thoughts
I have a secret
I know the eyes
Are the window to our souls
Your mouth can say what you will
When I ask you questions
When your soul is bared
Your eyes can not tell a lie
So you can run away and hide
Or wear dark glasses
I'm on to you
There is no reason to hide
No reason to lie
Just let me see your eyes
I'll know if your soul has been bared
No words need to be said
For the truth to be spoken.
Crockpot Quinoa
Have you had Quinoa? If not, it is a grain grown for the seeds which are edible. Quinoa is more closely related to beetroots, spinach and tumbleweeds.
Quinoa first came from the regions of Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia and Peru, some 3000 to 4000 years ago for human consumption. Quinoa is cooked like rice and can be made into any dish.
I enjoy making meals in the crockpot. I made a dish with Quinoa. It was easy to prepare. I added the Quinoa in last. As it tends to soak up any and all juices the longer it cooks.
In this dish I added : baby carrots, black beans, mushrooms, spinach, diced tomatoes, tomato juice (as the base), salsa, sea salt, everglades seasoning, black pepper, and crushed red peppers.
I wish I would have taken a photograph. As it looks beautiful with all the color combination. I usually do when I make something new. This time I was enthralled by the colors, I forgot.
I never heard of Quinoa til my health needed to be paid more attention to it through what I was eating. Finding out I have type 2 diabetis which requires medication was a real eye opener.
What is your favorite way to serve Quinoa?
10 Things I learned About Blogging
Today I decided to write about my blogging experience. I have been blogging on and off for years. I have had several blogs I deleted, I wish I would have kept and brought back when I became active again. These are some things I have learned about blogging :
1. You must write a niche. A niche is a subject. One that catches someone interest. So they will follow you. Such as : Food, Animals, Challenges, Rants, Celebrations and Holidays, etc.
2. You must comment when you can. Bloggers won't know who you are or if you were there if you don't leave a comment.
3. Always comment back to someone who leaves a comment on your blog. No matter how small it is.
4. Join online blogging websites. Such as Blog Luv'n to join other bloggers. Or Facebook groups dedicated to blogger's. One that is active, where admins make daily threads and comment on posts.
5. Just because noone comments. It doesn't mean it was a bad post. Don't delete it. Keep it up. I have had blog posts comments on months after initially sharing it.
6. Share your blog post via any social networking website you can join. The more you share your blog links, the more the word gets out.
7. Become a dedicated blogger, if someone comments on your blog. Search out a blog of theirs and leave a comment. It is great when bloggers help each other. Google+ is great about linking blogger's up.
8. Update your blogs at least once a week. If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time. Please let your loyal readers know. If you not you risk losing them. Once you lose a loyal reader. It is hard to get them back.
9. If you share you blogging link. Make sure you have time to click on other people blogs and comment on theirs. People loose interest if they are commenting on your blog but never get a response. Nobody likes someone dropping links and disappearing without a word.
10. Most of all be kind when leaving comments. Do not spam other people's links or blog posts without permission. Spamming is a sure way to lose readers and get blocked. Word gets around fast about those who like to spam. Instead join blog link ups. Do a google search and all different kinds will be brought up. Choose which blog link you blog best describes your blog and link up. You will meet more blogger's that way. Scroll to the top of this page to find Weekly Links Up or create your own.
Challenge : Write what you have experienced or learn from blogging.
I Write Because..........
I decided to take a prompt. I found it on a blog called "Finding The Grace Within". The prompt is to finish the sentence. (I write because.....). If you would like to take the prompt and share your link, you can go : here
I write as it is way for me to express myself instead of holding in all my emotions. As I tend to hold everything in, than explode. Writing helps me keep a hold of my emotions.
I write because I have many thoughts in my head that I would like to share with the world.
I write because it is a passion of mine. I started writing when I was a young teen and have taken off with it ever since.
I write because I started to pursue my writings when I was member of Gather.com. I met alot of wonderful and nice friends that way. They have encouraged me through the years and have been there for me when I needed it. I communicate with many of them on Facebook. They have seen me move from Ohio to Florida. Back to Ohio again. Seen me a single mom, to being married, to being shot, to fleeing from my estranged husband to my home state. They have been with me through my illnesses and disabilities. To hearing when my first grandson was born. They have gave me advice when it comes to my ADHD  / ODD daughter. They are what I consider real life online friends that I wish to meet one day.
My Secret Spice
When I am making meals from scratch or from a box. I always add some type of spices. Whether it is one a recipe calls for, or something I like to add.
I tend to use Everglades seasoning the most. This is my favorite spice. I call it my secret spice. As you can't buy it in my local area. I can order it online from their website.
I first found out about the spice while living in Florida. By a real excellent cook name Lena. She did alot of home cooked southern meals that still make my mouth water thinking about them. She always used Everglades seasoning. At times it is the one seasoning she would use. I learned alot from her as we became fast friends.
For a simple use of Everglades seasoning : Buy a package of the boneless chicken drumette or chicken legs. Season them with Everglades seasoning. Pop in the oven or on the grill til done. Your guests and family will think you spend much more time making these.
I also use Italian seasoning alot in my creations. I love getting a thin steak adding Italian seasoning, a little butter and frying it up. Of course Everglade Seasoning is added.
What spice or spices do you tend to use alot in your cooking?
