Another Business Idea Challenge

I have been thinking of businesses that could be brought in to my area.
While riding back and fourth to the stores. I get to see the store fronts that are empty, for sale, or for rent or lease.
One such building has been vacant for many years. It is a prime location for a business. It is for sale. Only problem is the owner wants way to much money for the property. So, it sets vacant.
I would love to open up this building. As I would like to start a food service slash convenient drive thur.
I would like to serve sandwiches. Something different and easy t make. Such as : Creamy chicken sandwiches, sloppy joes, hot beef and other similar sandwiches.
No burgers or fried chicken. You can get those at any fast food places.
I would have some sides. I am not sure which ones I would choose. Maybe at lunch time a bag of chips and a dill pickle. The sides must be quick and easy as well to prepare and transport.
The place would be a drive through to pick up anything you can find in a convenient store. As well as serving food.
The one service that would be also offered would be a delivery service. Anything can be delivered over a certain amount. Plus, two bucks for delivery.
Many people don't tip in my area like they should. So, the two dollar delivery fee would go to the drivers.
This would help the community by creating more jobs, adding an additional business, and adding more tax revenue in the long run.

In a different post I talked about having a couple of ideas for a business challenge to help those in my local community by giving back some how.
My second business idea I was implement after starting the bus business. That way i would have a way to help pay for the operation of my next idea.
My next idea would be to rent a building or warehouse type to have a "free for all." It would be a building where I would collect anything noone needed or wanted. However, it had to be in working order, no rips or stains, and could be used again. Things of that nature.
I would start out by hosting a "free for all" once a month. Til more items started coming in on a regular bases.
People living in the county making under a certain amount a month would be able to come and take what they wanted of any items that were placed out. As these people would be the ones that really need the items.
Any toys would be put back towards Christmas time. Than I would host a toy giveaway that local people would have to sign up.
i would take little soaps, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Place them in little bags and hand them out to all who go through the place as they were heading out the door.
I would buy a couple old moving trucks. To go pick up big items. This way more people would donate, as someone would come pick the stuff up.
To have people help set up for the free giveaways. i would hire those who needed to work off community service requirements. I would also set up for those who have to work for their foodstamps to get their hours in.
This would help get the word out of the free giveaway. i would also go up to the local job center and let the ladies who run know about the free giveaway. I know they would let me set fliers about it up on the desk to help get the word around. Those two ladies could also let me know of someone who really needed the help in between the giveaways.
This is something i would like to do on a weekly bases. I know the need is great.
i would like to set up where i could accept donations. That way I could do more for the community with the giveaways. Like handing out things other places in town doesn't. Such as toiletries and personal hygiene items.
I thought about having bins outside that would collect clothes and such.
Do you think something this would be a good idea?

Bus Business Challenge

Since I live on social security, the only way I would ever come in to large sum of money, was if I played the lottery and won.
If I won the lottery, I have a business idea I would make come true.
I would start a small or short bus service through out my town. Many people do not have vehicles or the ability to get from one side of town to the next. Or are disabled like me and can't walk.
I would use the short buses because of the size of the town. Plus, shorter buses would help for gas mileage. If it seemed more people were using the buses. I would bring in longer buses to fill the need. Til the business would pick up. I would use smaller buses that were wheelchair excessable.
I would figure what larger communities were charging for transport on a bus to figure out a one time fee. I would also use the same statics to figure out a year pass.
I would have several areas as pick up points. I would reach all four corners of the town and main streets.
We do have a cab service. Finding the right number or getting a hold of them and not waiting forever is a real problem. I think a bus system could beat the cab service out. As i would not charge $14 for a one way pick up.
I thought of the idea of not charger highschool kids a bus pass. As i seen that in a larger city. I am not sure if I will implicate that or not.
What are you thoughts of a short bus service? Would you use it, if it was available in your area?

Do You Like Pecan Pie?

I love pecan pie. It is one of my favorite kind of pies come fall and winter season to eat. It is so good to eat right after coming out of the oven, sitting outside and looking at the sky.
Here is simple recipe to make for your family to enjoy.
Pecan Pie : ~~~~~~~~~ Fills a single crust 9 inch pie
3 slightly beaten eggs 1/4-cup molasses
/4-cup corn syrup
1/3-cup brown sugar
1/3-cup granulated sugar
1/3-cup melted butter or margarine
1-tsp vanilla
1 1/4-cup pecan halves or chopped macadamia nuts
For filling, combine eggs, molasses, corn syrup, sugars, butter, and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in pecans. Place in pastry lined pie plate. To prevent over browning, cover edge of pie with foil. Bake in a 350* oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 20-25 minutes more until knife comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Refrigerate 2 hours before serving.
I usually use a store bought pie crust.

Things to write about (2)

I thought I would share more things you can write about. To help get your creative juices flowing.

1. Commercial you saw
2. Stuffed burgers
3. Something you bought off tv
4. Food
5. Review an item you use in the kitchen

Stuffed Burgers

One day when I was watching commercials. I seen one where you could make nice size stuffed burgers. I don't recall what the item is called. However, it is red. On tv the people make it look easy. It also caught my eye enough time's that I had to buy one. However, I was not ordering it off tv. I usually wait til I can find these in my local Kroger's, Rite-Aid or Walgreens stores. I do this so I do not have to buy a second one or pay shipping and handling. I found one at Kroger's for $9.99. I grabbed it up.

I know what my family was having for dinner. As soon as I got home and the kids seen it. We had to try it out. My 15 year old son was eager to try his hand at making stuffed burgers. I opt to have mine stuffed with onions, mushrooms and provolone cheese. My daughter had her's stuffed with mushroom and cheese. My son choose only cheese. He is not a fan of mushrooms or onions at all.

The device was pretty simple to use. I would suggest cleaning it between making burgers. As the burgers started to stick in the item by the third one. Also make sure you use a thin larger of burger. before adding the veggies or cheese. Otherwise you will not have room to add the top layer. As you can tell by the photo, nice size burgers are made. The burgers turned out great. Next time, I am going to try to use ground chicken or ground turkey instead.

Do you like to make stuffed burgers?

Tuna Fish Sandwich

Tuna fish is something I always have cans of in my cupboard. It is a quick easy meal to fix and can be added to almost anything.

Since, the weather is getting warmer in my area. I tend to make more sandwiches to eat. Tuna Fish is one of them. I love to add onions, tomato, and lettuce. I also like to add different spices to enhance the tuna fish flavor.

Other times, I like to make a tuna melt by adding shredded swiss cheese and mix it in with the tuna fish. Place it between two pieces of bread and fry it. Like you would toast and cheese. Believe it or not. It is really yummy. As the cheese melts adding more flavor.

The other day I was browsing through the local Wal-mart when I ran across the Flat Out Hungry Girl bread. It is a fold it flatbread. Where you only need to use one slice. Add your ingredients. Than fold over and you're ready to eat. It comes in three flavors : original, rosemary with olive olive and a whole wheat. On a scale to from 1 to 5. I give this bread a 4.

Why? Because the taste is excellent. It only has 1 to 2 g of fat depending on what kind you buy. It has no cholesterol. But the sodium content is high.

Pillsbury Quick Bread Pecan Swirl

Some days I don't have the energy to do as much homemade cooking as I like. Espically like the past couple of days when my rheumatoid arthritis kicks in high gear. For those times, I tend to have something quick to make. That still taste great. Like the Pillsbury Quick Bread. It comes in a rather small box.

It is simple and quick to make. Nothing special, just follow the directions given on the box. This is how it looks after freshly coming out of the oven. Doesn't it make you want to take a bite of it?

I always add my own touch when I make from a box. I add a drizzle of honey over the top of the quick bread and served it still warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

This was a big hit with my family. I really thought it would be a dry type of bread. But it wasn't I don't know it could of been the adding drizzle of honey or the ice cream that was melting from the warm quick bread. This will be something I will buy again and serve to my family and friends.

I give this yummy treat a thumbs up! From a score from 1 to 5. I rate this a 5.

Have you ever Pillsbury Quick Bread Pecan Swirl? If so, would you eat it again?
