Mournful Sphinx Moth - Wordless Wednesday

Mournful Sphinx Moth

For this week's edition of Wordless Wednesday, I am sharing a few photos of the "Mournful Sphinx Moth". This moth looks like an airplane.

Mournful Sphinx Moth

This photo is a little blurry. It is the best I could trying to get a different view. Even at a different view this month still looks like your looking at a miniature airplane.

From this view, you can see the moth has a little hump like feature. Which reminds you more of a fish out of the water.

This moth was found and photographed in Southern Texas. It was seen in gray, dark brown and light brown in color.

  2. That moth does look like a stealth bomber, doesn't it?

  3. This is a really neat-looking critter. It not only can look like an airplane, a spaceship, a stealth bomber, and a fish, but it also resembles a bat, a crumpled-up leaf, and some kind of wrap shell containing some sort of delicious mixture.
