6 Things That I Fear

I thought this month would be the perfect time to write about what I fear. Since October seems to bring out the fear when many of the traditions are celebrated.

I fear death. I think it is because I know I am a sinner. I believe in heaven and hell. I don’t know which place I will go when I die. I know I have sinned a lot. I have asked for forgiveness when I know I have committed a sin. Some sins I seem to have a habit and haven't been able to break them. I do try my best. As I fear what will happen to my children once I am gone. Especially my daughter who has issues.

I am afraid of heights. Once I look down. I freeze while fear grips me. My heart starts beating a mile a minute. I feel like I am going to faint. I get dizzy.

I fear the dark. As I can’t see what is in front of me. I blame that on watching too many horror movies as a child. My siblings always like jumping out and scaring me. Now d my teenage son like to jump out of nowhere and scare me. I am partially blind. I fear one day it will be complete. Where my world will be colorless.

I detest spiders. I was bitten on the back of the hand while living in Florida.  (I wrote about it in the blog titles Spiders are taking over my house.)The spider bite was very painful. It made me feel like I was on fire from my fingertips to my shoulder. It took three days before the medicine the antibiotics kicked in. I had a reaction to a nonpoisonous spider.

Snakes are another animal that scares me. I am not sure why. I do enjoy looking at them from afar. I don’t want any to come up close enough to touch me.

I fear of being alone. I am alone many hours during the day. Many times I enjoy the quiet time. I fear the time when the day turns dark. I hate being alone in the dark. I have also been very unlucky in love to the point where I fear being with anyone. That I fear I will wind alone.

Challenge:  Write about your fears.

  1. Those are some pretty intense fears. I used to fear hell, but after a lot of soul-searching and study, I fear it no longer. In my heart I believe the creator is good and just and would not torment his creation unfairly.

  2. Thanks for voicing your fears. I'm finding that my fears are coming out as Halloween approaches. I don't enjoy that part of it.

    1. I am sure i could get over some of these fears. Not all of them. I have been deathly afraid of heights since I was a little kid. Nothing I have done has changed that,.

  4. The great news in the bible is that if you accept Jesus as both your savior and also your Lord, and truly repent your sins (including those you may not even know, remember, or realize were sins), you are forgiven. That is your "pass" into heaven, since Jesus already paid for you. The responsibility is to live your life for Jesus and to do as much good as you can. You are forgiven for your sins, so don't focus on them, focus on how you can help others. We will all be judged, but people will be judged according to the good they do, not the bad that they do.

    1. I do hope I can live up to what Jesus expects of me. I am trying to be a good mother but I am failing on all accounts. I provide what my kids need but recently found out they have been stealing from me.

  5. Dear Rusty Trusty Chatter,
    Thank you for being authentic.
I share some of your fears, but the one I can relate to the most is of the dark. I am legally blind and losing my sight. SO I have had to learn to use a white cane.
Sometimes I have gotten lost just a block from my house! But my gps helps me when I lose my way. And my cane lets others know I can't see them in the dark.

    1. Please call me Rusty2rusty, that is a nickname I have been going by online for many years. Thank you.
I am legally blind in my left eye and slowly going blind in my right eye. I have trouble seeing anything close up and now starting to have issues seeing far away. I am sorry to learn you are slowly going blind as well.

  6. I'm commenting after the horrible attack in Las Vegas last night. I fear what's happening to my country. I fear that soon we may be afraid to go to the places we are used to going to enjoy ourselves. I don't fear death, since I believe what Rex does and trust that Jesus paid the price for my sins so that I can be with him forever. I do fear the process of dying, since I fear pain. I also fear possible martyrdom if the country keeps heading the direction it's going.

    1. Your know my fears are similar to yours. It seems like every time I do away with cab;e and do not have access to tv something terrible like this happens in the USA. last one was 911. It scares me that people think they can randomly kill people for no reason and in their head it is okay. I too do not want to hurt when I die. If I must I want to go quick. i don';[t want to have to suffer in terrible amounts of pain before I go.

  7. Fear not because Christ is always with you and your battle has already been fought and won. Turn your life over to Christ. Ask Him to forgive your sins and He will, but once He does, you have to let it go. Faith in God and his forgiveness will alleviate that fear. God does love you and want to protect you. You just have to believe that. We all have some fears. The key is to conquer them and not allow them to conquer us.

  8. Sandy, we have almost the same fear. The most fear I have is when I think about death and snakes. We have to overcome our fears but I don´t know how.

    1. I don't know how either. Fear has been instilled in me since I was a little child. I don't know how to break the chain that fear has a hold of.

    1. Some horror movies don't bother me. i do not like the bloody gory ones. Ever since I was shot I stopped watching movies of that nature. My ex used to watched them all the time. It would bother me so much i took to being on the computer and putting ear plugs in to block the sound. of course this started a fight because than I was ignoring him and not paying any attention. The More I think about it, I don't know why i stayed in a relationship with him as long as I did.
