Chihuahua The New Hunting Dog

Moose, the Chug (Chihuahua and pug mix) and Rascal, the Chihuahua mix has both proven to be good hunters for their small size. Moose has successfully taught Rascal how to catch a bird.

All winter long Moose would catch a bird, teaching Rascal how to be successful bird dog.

Together with their bigger brother Buster, the English Mastiff. They all three chased a neighborhood black cat up the tree. The cat would sit on the other side of the chain link fence and taunt the dogs. It made the mistake of venturing over the chainlink fence.

No worries. The cat was not harmed. I called all three in the house. So, the black cat could safely climb out of the tree. Boy, did it run as quick as it could over the chainlink fence. I haven't seen it since.

With the weather warming, the snow is starting to disappear. Once again the dogs are hunting birds. I guess that will teach the birds to take a chance at eating their food.

I think it is about time I start filling the bird feeders up again to save them from the dogs. What do you think? Now if I could get the squirrels stay out of the bird feeders. So, they don't the dogs next meal. As moose is an excellent at treeing a  squirrel.
