Since, Next month will be February, where many people give thanks for their significant others and loves ones. I thought of something else that could be done as a family. I told the kids about the idea I read.
The idea : To get a large container of some sort. Every time one of the family thinks of something that makes them smile, happy or they are thankful for. They need to write it down on a piece of paper and place it in the container. Every New Year's get the container out and each person takes a turn of reading what made someone happy, smile, or what they are thankful.
One thing I would add to the container would be a note that told my son I was very thankful for the log cabin he built out of Lincoln logs. When he built it, he said,"Mom I can't afford to buy you a castle. So, I built you one instead." I smiled and my cheeks turned red. I thought aw what a sweet sweet thing my boy did for me. The photo I am using is one I took myself of castle Lincoln Logs my son built for me. Isn't very creative and sweet?
It is a nice way to say thank you to someone in case they forgot. It helps you to think of good things that happen through out the year, and what you could look forward to in the future. I think sharing a little love this way will help to strength a family together.
What are ways you do as a family together that tells each other you are thankful?
